How to Transition Your Summer Sunnies to Fall

There is nothing like the fresh start of September. It almost feels more like the beginning of a new year than January 1. Kids go back to school, productivity is heavy in the air and everyone is ready to give a final push to the end of the year. And the fashion?

Well. We know all fashionistas claim fall is their favourite time of year. Who doesn’t love layering, cozying up in your favourite fuzzy sweater, or pulling out your favourite pair of boots? This is all great, but we don’t want you to put away your summer accessories just yet! Eyewear is exceptionally versatile, and can be worn all year round – how chic!

Here’s how you can transition some of your fun summer lenses to fall.

Colored Mirrored Sunnies

Mirrored lenses gained popularity when RiRi first rocked the Dior So Real. While colourful mirrored lenses definitely shout summer fun, bring them into fall with a monochromatic scheme. Pair them with your favourite summer dress in a similar hue and throw a pair of denim underneath to ward away any September chill. Add a dark hued handbag to complete the transformation!

Architectural Sunnies

These Max Mara frames have a killer circular silhouette which partnered perfectly with your festival circuit ensembles. To make them work for the more studious vibes of fall, contrast them with clean, crisp lines by way of print or silhouette. Here, we’re doing both with a menswear striped sweater and A-line skirt.

Translucent

When crystal clear lucite hit Spring 2018 runways (ahem – here’s looking at you Chanel!), we knew it would translate beautifully into the eyewear world. Although these translucent Pradas feel light and airy, give them a cool twist by pairing with a chunky sweater – this balances out the fuzzy luxe of your favourite knit. To complement with shine, throw on a pair of crystal sparklers.

When you have a pair of frames that suits you, there are endless ways to wear them. Still looking for that perfect pair for you? Come in and chat with one of our specialists – we’d love for you to visit!
