Best of Merivale Vision Care in 2018

Nothing says the end of the year like a roundup post. Our 2018 has been full of fun
changes, accomplishments, and great events, so we thought this type of post was a fun
way to look back on a great year. And while a lot of our achievements this past year
have been thanks to the hard work and dedication of our amazing team, it’s also
because of you, our awesome clients!

We love having you attend our trunk shows, laugh at our over the top Halloween costumes, and help us in our initiatives to support the community. We’ve managed to round up some of these highlights over the past year, and without further delay - here they are!

On Valentine’s Day we donated to the Ottawa Heart Institute, and on Women’s Day we donated to Zonta Club of Ottawa and hosted a pop up with Krista Norris! We were proud to collaborate with these amazing female business leaders in the city.

Our annual trunk shows were a hit this year as always. Our Spring Trunk Show was
held in May and our featured brands were Chloe and Rag & Bone. Perfect designs for
summer-ready looks. We donated a portion of the proceeds to Harmony House - a total
of $2050!

We changed the format of our Fall Trunk Show to two days of awesomeness, and
featured Italian brands like Vanni, Glossi, Nature Eyes, Derapage and Munic Eyewear.
We were so pleased to donate $2100 to Operation Come Home from proceeds of this trunk
show.

This year, we’re happy to announce the newest member of our team, Dr. Tanya
Merwiak! She calls Ottawa her hometown and is happy to return after completing her
Degree in Optometry from the University of Waterloo. Dr. Merwiak has volunteered on
an eye mission trip to Ecuador and at a Veterans Affairs hospital in Tallahassee Florida
where she gained knowledge on treatment of ocular disease. Dr. Merwiak and all of our
skilled optometrists are happy to take on new patients for 2019!

We are all very excited for 2019, especially the changes that are being made around the
office. You may have noticed some renovations happening during your last visit, and we
are excited for our little facelift to be complete in the upcoming year.

Thank you so much for your support and business over the past year. From our family
to yours, we wish you a happy and healthy holiday season and an even better New
Year!
