MVC Around Town: Spring Edition

Spring Trunk Show in support of Mealshare
We had our annual Spring Trunk show and it was such a blast! For 2 days we featured the entire collection of Etnia Barcelona frames and we saw a lot of familiar and new faces. Thank you for supporting us Ottawa. Because of all your support we were able to donate $2527 to Mealshare – a fantastic organization that is working to solve youth hunger!
To top it off, some of our MVC team went to Pelican Seafood Market and Grill on MealShare’s Tonight for Tomorrow event to add more dollars to this awesome organization!
Party with a Purpose
MVC was lucky enough to sponsor Party with a Purpose, a fantastic friend-raising and fund-raising event. It was an inspiring evening filled with speeches about local community programs that work hard to support families. It was a spectacular event seeing lots of familiar faces that support our local business. We were so happy to be able to return the favour by being a part of this beautiful night!
Orbis Flying Eye Hospital
A couple of weeks ago, MVC was lucky enough to be invited to check out the one and only Orbis Flying Eye Hospital! This remarkable aircraft is equipped with a surgical suite that allows eye care professionals to perform surgeries wherever they may be. Did you know that most of the surgeries in this aircraft is done on children? A large part of this amazing organization is to train staff in other countries so that they can provide health care to their community. It was such an amazing opportunity!
Parkdale Food Gala
The Parkdale Food Centre Gala is an event that always fills the heart and the tummy. We had a great evening enjoying some of Ottawa’s finest foods while supporting a great cause. If you didn’t know, Parkdale Food Centre is a wonderful place that provides wholesome and nutritious food to neighbours in need. We can’t wait to attend again! Maybe next time you will be the lucky one who wins a pair of our fashionable sunnies!
Nepean One Design Regatta
This will be our second year supporting the Nepean One Design Regatta! For the past two years, all the competitors received one of our MVC shopping bags (which double as awesome lunch bags) to hold all their goodies for the event. We also joined the event to provide the racers with last-minute eyeglass tune-ups or items they needed such as sunglasses, floating eyeglass straps and lens cloths! We had an awesome time spreading awareness to racers about UV protection on the water and look forward to making this a yearly event!
We can’t wait for all the amazing summer events that will be going on in the nation’s capital. It really is such a lovely time of year in Ottawa. What do you guys have planned this summer? Comment below!
