Sunglasses

_____ We love the sun!
If you love the sun like we do, you know how a bright sunny day can affect your eyesight. Eyes, like skin, are vulnerable to sunburn, and a day in the sun without proper eye protection can leave you with stinging, red, dry eyes. The irritation usually resolves within a few days, but many years later the accumulation of sun damage can cloud your vision, or even result in irreversible disorders that threaten your eyesight.
The good news is that there are many options for you to protect your eyes even if you use prescription eyewear. Ultraviolet (UV) light consists of UVA, UVB, and UVC rays. UVC rays are stopped in Earth’s atmosphere, but UVA and UVB reach the eyes and can potentially damage them especially with long term exposure to the sun’s rays.
If you use prescription eyewear, here are some of the most popular options to protect your eyes from harm:
Order a pair of prescription shades or glasses that darken when exposed to bright light.
A prescription pair of UV-blocking contact lenses. UV-blocking contact lenses can be worn with a non-prescription pair of sunglasses for optimal eye protection.
Use a non-prescription pair of clip-ons or wraparound glasses that will fit over your lenses.
